ASBESTOS 2024 Conference

In partnership with the Faculty of Asbestos Management of Australia and New Zealand (FAMANZ), we held the ASBESTOS 2024 Conference from 4-6 March at the Rydges Melbourne.

Over 250 delegates attended in-person and virtually, including technical experts, regulators, asbestos disease support and advocacy groups and trade unions.

International and local industry experts shared innovative solutions related to asbestos identification, removal and processing of asbestos waste, as well as developments in diagnosing and treating asbestos diseases. The conference MC, James O’Loghlin, kept the audience engaged and entertained. We received very positive feedback from conference delegates who appreciated the variety of topics covered in the three-day program.

The conference program also featured a Welcome Reception and Gala Cocktail event, which provided further networking opportunities for delegates, and an exhibition hall which featured 18 exhibitors from various industries showcasing a range of practices, products and services.

With many of our stakeholders in attendance at the conference, we were able to hold in-person meetings with the Asbestos Support Group Network members, the Asbestos and Silica Safety and Eradication Council and an international delegation from Laos, Cambodia and Indonesia.
