Updated asbestos safety brochures for electricians and plumbers
As a part of the Asbestos Safety and Eradication Agency's ongoing project to review and update our asbestos safety brochures, we have recently consulted on and published refreshed brochures for electricians and plumbers.
The updated brochures provide information about where asbestos is commonly found when working, the laws and regulations surrounding asbestos management and removal, as well as guidance and safety tips to protect individuals from exposure to the harmful fibres.
As a part of the update, we consulted with a number of peak bodies and industry associations to ensure that the guidance is practical and relevant. This included discussions with the Electrical Trades Union, Master Electricians Australia, Master Plumbers Australia and New Zealand, and the Plumbing and Pipe Trades Employees Union.

We are continuing to update our asbestos safety brochures and are currently revising our automotive and fire trades guidance. These are currently out for consultation and will be finalised in the coming months.
