About the Agency

ASSEA is a commonwealth non-corporate agency, whose primary purpose is to coordinate the design, implementation and monitoring of two national strategic plans, agreed by all Australian governments.

These plans aim to prevent exposure to asbestos fibres and respirable crystalline silica in order to eliminate asbestos and silica related diseases.

Working alongside both government and non-government partners, ASSEA provides a national focus to improve knowledge and awareness of asbestos and silica safety and diseases, while supporting those impacted by disease.
